RESEARCH
Chunmeng Liu’s research lies at the intersection of artificial intelligence and computational biology, with a central focus on multimodal representation learning for complex biological systems. She is particularly interested in developing computational frameworks that integrate heterogeneous data modalities and uncover structured patterns underlying biological organization and disease processes. By studying representation alignment, structural modeling, and cross-modal consistency, her work seeks to enable coherent integration of diverse data sources under limited supervision and structural constraints. Ultimately, this research aims to bridge the gap between large-scale biomedical data and mechanistic understanding, contributing to data-driven discovery and precision medicine.
BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Chunmeng Liu is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia. Her research lies at the intersection of computer vision, multimodal foundation models, and weakly supervised semantic segmentation. Dr. Liu earned her Bachelor of Engineering degree from Anhui Agricultural University in 2019. She received her Ph.D. in Computer Science and Technology from Tongji University in 2025, where her doctoral research focused on representation learning and computational modeling under complex data environments. From 2023 to 2024, she was a visiting Ph.D. researcher at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain, where she further deepened her research in domain adaptation through international collaborative research. She is currently engaged in computational research on biomedical data analysis and multimodal integration at KAUST, aiming to bridge advanced machine learning methodologies with spatial and molecular biomedical data to enable more precise and interpretable disease modeling.
