RESEARCH
Yiling Ma is a master student in Applied Mathematics and Computational Sciences at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), working under the supervision of Professors Jesper N. Tegnér. Her research spans complex systems, biomolecular dynamics, and computational biology, with a focus on leveraging mathematical models and artificial intelligence to solve challenging problems in life sciences. Yiling’s recent work includes developing generative AI-based world models for RNA structure prediction and constructing graded-response Hopfield models for node regulatory networks.
BIOGRAPHY
Before joining KAUST, Yiling earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science from Kean University. Her early research included unsupervised domain adaptation for medical image segmentation, adaptive neuro-fuzzy systems for satellite image analysis, and mutual information neural estimation, reflecting his interdisciplinary expertise across artificial intelligence, data analytics, and computational biology.
